Kenneth “Flex” Wheeler is an American IFBB professional bodybuilder. Flex won the Arnold Classic a then-record four times and was once called by Arnold one of the greatest bodybuilders he had ever seen.

Early Life of Flex Wheeler

Flex Wheeler was born on August 13, 1965, and raised in California, USA. He grew up in poverty and difficult circumstances. As a child, Wheeler faced child abuse and suicidal bents. He tried in school due to dyslexia but outshined in sports.

Flex got 2nd place at Mr. Olympia in 1993. He is a 5-time Ironman Pro winner four and a-time Arnold Classic winner. He has experienced victories in the France Grand Prix, South Beach Pro Invitational, Night of Champions, and Hungarian Grand Prix.

Wheeler had the best IFBB pro appearance in the history of bodybuilding in 1993 with four wins in Pro Iron Man, French Grand Prix, Arnold Classic, German Grand Prix, and 2nd in his first Mr. Olympia.

In 1994Flex was implicated in a near-fatal car accident that could have left him with permanent paralysis.

He began from scratch again, returning to the sport’s top ranks with extraordinary speed. Flex trained Rickey Moten and many others.

In 1999, Wheeler found he had Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, a kidney disease. Despite press consideration as to the cause of the failure, Wheeler looked out that the condition was genetic, not self-inflicted.

Flex announced his retirement from competitive bodybuilding in 2000 but stayed to compete until 2002. He experienced kidney transplantation in 2003. In 2005, Wheeler participated in a championship Arnold Classic.
