Early Pro Years (2018–2019)
Shaaban arrived in the pro ranks in 2018 and wasted no time testing himself. His first season brought three shows and steady progress. 💪
He placed 5th at the Big Man Weekend Pro and 10th at the George Farah Classic Pro, then closed the year with a strong 3rd at the Romania Muscle Fest Pro.
The breakthrough came in 2019. Shaaban won the Portugal Pro, the first victory of his professional career.

Building Momentum (2020–2021)
In 2020 he kept grinding through a disrupted season, taking 6th at the California Pro and 7th at the Chicago Pro.
The 2021 season was the busiest of his career. He opened with 2nd place at the California Pro, behind Patrick Moore, and added another runner-up finish at the Puerto Rico Pro.
A 5th place at the Tampa Pro kept his points total climbing, and he earned his place at the 2021 Mr. Olympia through the points system rather than a show win.
In Orlando he delivered the best Olympia result of his career: 10th place in the biggest lineup in bodybuilding. 🏆
A few weeks later he competed at home at the KO Pro Egypt. He placed 2nd behind Regan Grimes, with Samson Dauda in 3rd.
Shaaban was unhappy with that result and said so publicly on social media, explaining that the loss hurt and that he planned to take time away before returning in 2022. His wife Tracy had advised him against doing the show at all.
Injury, Comeback and the Toronto Win (2022)
In February 2022, Shaaban announced that he was withdrawing from the Arnold Classic. In his own announcement he shared his MRI results and a doctor’s note.
He explained that he was dealing with bulging spinal discs and neck and upper-back pain that had troubled him since before the 2021 Olympia, and that doctors in Egypt and California had advised him to rest and recover properly. 🩺
The rest worked. He returned in May 2022 and placed 2nd at the California State Pro, where Charles Griffen took the win.
One week later, on June 5, 2022, Shaaban won the Toronto Pro Supershow, beating Theo Leguerrier and Andrea Muzi. It was the second pro win of his career and sent him back to the Olympia.
At the 2022 Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas he was placed in the fourth callout at prejudging and finished outside the top 15.
The Arnold Comeback (2024)
Shaaban did not compete at all in 2023. But he was not finished: in March 2024 he returned on one of bodybuilding’s biggest invitational stages, the Arnold Classic in Ohio.
He placed 10th in a ten-man field won by Hadi Choopan — one place behind Brazil’s Marcello De Angelis. Two weeks later he crossed the Atlantic for the Arnold Classic UK and placed 6th, his best result since the Toronto win. 🏆
That UK show was his most recent contest. The comeback proved he could still hold his own in elite company, even if the Olympia stage stayed out of reach this time.

Life Outside Bodybuilding
Shaaban’s wife Tracy is an IFBB Pro herself, so bodybuilding runs through the whole household. 🍪
