Joe Mackey was born in 1985 in Texas, USA. As a child, he was not the strongest or fastest body. He was best known as the skinny kid growing up compared to his older brother, who was known for being fast, strong, and active.
He enjoyed his childhood reading books and playing video games at his home. Joe Mackey joined a gym at a very young age with his father, who was a big guy and was usually one of the strongest whenever they were in the gym.
When Joe Mackey was in high school, his arms were 18 inches, and he was strong for his age and size. He was interested in football as he played football all through high school and college.
Joe Mackey became aware of his passion for lifting at Angelo State University. When he was 23, he was benching 405 lb and squatting 495 for reps. But now, bodybuilding has become a profession that he is passionate about, and he enjoys doing it every day.

Joe Mackey competed for the first time at NPC, North American Championships in Men’s Bodybuilding Super heavyweight class and got 11th place in the Show.
Joe Mackey got his pro card in 2016 by getting 2nd place in the super-heavyweight division at NPC Nationals. Joe Mackey made his IFBB Pro debut by competing at the 2017 IFBB Ferrigno Legacy Pro with a 9th place finish in the Men’s Open Bodybuilding Class.
Joe competed at the 2020 Tampa Pro show in Men’s Open Bodybuilding division and got 8th place against Hunter Labrada and Iain Valliere.
Joe Mackey competed at the 2021 Chicago Pro and finished 12th against Hunter Labrada, Brett Wilkin, Maxx Charles, Mohamad Shaaban, Roelly Winklaar, and Hassan Mostafa in the men’s open division at the competition.
Joe Mackey bodybuilder last competed at the 2022 Tampa Pro Show that took place on the 4th and 6th of August in Florida. Joe Mackey got 4th place against Akim Williams, Kamal Elgargni, and Quinton Eriya in the men’s open division.
Joe Mackey will compete at the 2022 IFBB Texas Pro Show, which will take place on August 12-13, 2022, in Texas, the USA. A win at the 2022 Texas Pro show would also qualify him for Mr. Olympia 2022.
