2021 212 Champion Derek Lunsford received a special invitation to compete in the Men’s Bodybuilding – Open Division to win the Mr. Olympia title. Derek Lunsford will not defend his 212 winner title in the 2022 Olympia.

Lunsford requested the IFBB Pro League to compete in Open Bodybuilding at the 2022 Mr. Olympia. Derek Lunsford confirmed on his social media account that the IFBB Pro League accepted his request.

Lunsford will compete in the Men’s Bodybuilding for the Mr. Olympia title this year. He is ready to compete against Big Ramy, Nick Walker, Brandon Curry, Hadi Choopan, Hunter Labrada, and William Bonac

Derek Lunsford would become Mr. Olympia after winning the Men’s Bodybuilding Open title at the 2022 Olympia. And he would also become the first-ever IFBB Pro bodybuilder to win the Olympia in two different classes.
