Furkan Er Early Life
Furkan Er was born in Istanbul, Turkey, on December 19, 1995, and spent part of his school years in Edirne.
He took up karate as a young boy before discovering weight training during his school years, and he later graduated from Istanbul Arel University’s Faculty of Architecture in 2017.
His early competitive years were spent in amateur Men’s Physique, where he built the shape and stage presence that would later carry him into the professional ranks. 💪

Furkan Er Bodybuilding Career
Er’s breakthrough came in 2021, when he won the NPC Worldwide Russia Pro Qualifier in Men’s Physique and earned his IFBB Pro card. 🏆
He made an instant impact as a pro, finishing second at the 2021 Romania Muscle Fest Pro behind Alessandro Cavagnola in his debut pro season.

His best season came in 2022, when he finished second at both the Empro Pro in Spain and the Warsaw Pro in Poland, and third at the Sheru Classic Italy Pro.
Those results took him to the 2022 Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas, where he competed in Men’s Physique against the world’s best — a field won by Erin Banks, with Diogo Montenegro third. Er finished outside the top 15.

Er stayed busy through 2023 and 2024, collecting top-five finishes at the 2023 Romania Muscle Fest Pro (3rd), the 2023 Optimum Classic Pro (4th) and the 2024 Eurasia Championships Pro (4th).
He has not yet won a professional show, and he has not returned to the Olympia stage since 2022 — but he has kept competing across Europe and the United States.
In a surprising late-career twist, the official scorecard for the 2025 Balkan Grand Prix Pro lists Er in 11th place in Men’s 212 Bodybuilding, rather than his usual Men’s Physique division. It is his only recorded 212 outing, so it is best read as a one-off experiment for now. 👀
He has no recorded appearance at the professional Arnold Classic in Ohio or the Arnold Classic UK — his name appears only in amateur-era Arnold-linked listings, not in any pro Arnold Classic results.
