👤 Who Is Yemi Awoyemi?
Awoyemi is a British Men’s Physique professional who competes under the name Yemi Awoyemi, while IFBB Pro League scorecards list him by his full name, Adeyemi Awoyemi.
He is known for a classic Men’s Physique look: a wide, capped-shoulder frame, a tight waist and the polished stage presentation the division rewards. ✨
One warning for anyone searching his name: he is not Yemi Adefioye, the British Classic Physique pro. The two men are different athletes in different divisions — and, confusingly, both won titles at the same British Championships in 2024.
🚀 2022: The Rookie Win Nobody Saw Coming
Awoyemi earned his IFBB Pro card in 2022, and he wasted no time proving he belonged in the pro ranks.
In November 2022, in Alicante, Spain, he entered the Europa Pro Championships as a rookie — and won the whole show, beating Spain’s Sidy Pouye into second place. 🥇

The win qualified him for the 2022 Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas, the largest Men’s Physique field in Olympia history, where he finished tied 16th in a lineup won by Erin Banks.
Plenty of new pros take seasons to find their feet. Awoyemi ended his first year as a pro with a title and an Olympia appearance already on his record. 💪
🔥 2023: The Dubai Win and a Second Olympia
His 2023 season was built around a relentless September run of three shows in three weeks — and it delivered his second pro title.
First came a fifth place at the Flex Weekend Pro in Milan on September 10, behind winner Ali Bilal. A week later he took third at the Europa Pro, behind Sidy Pouye and Ali Bilal.
Then, on September 24, he flew to the UAE and won the Dubai Pro, beating Abisai Pietersz and Youseff Hassan and leaving Pouye and Emile Walker in fourth and fifth. 🏆
The Dubai title sent him back to the Mr. Olympia, held that November in Orlando. In a field won by Ryan Terry, Awoyemi again finished tied 16th on the official scorecard.
🇬🇧 2024: Podiums All Year — and a British Title
If 2023 made Awoyemi a champion, 2024 made him a contender at nearly every show he entered. He reached the podium four times in a single autumn.
He opened with third at the Pro Muscle Italy Pro in Milan on September 8, then took another third at the Europa Pro, and followed it with second place at Milan’s Koloseum Pro, behind Alessandro Cavagnola.
Awoyemi with his first-place medal at the 2024 British Championships — the win that qualified him for the 2025 Mr. Olympia.
The highlight came on home soil on October 19, when he won the British Championships Men’s Physique title in the United Kingdom, ahead of Omar Suleiman and Emile Walker. 🥇
He closed the season tied 16th at the EVLS Prague Pro in November — a show Suleiman won — where the official scorecard famously misspelled his name as “Yemz Aeoyemi.”
Because the British Championships were held a week after the 2024 Mr. Olympia, that win qualified Awoyemi for the 2025 Olympia instead — an honest detail the record books support.
🎯 2025: A Fifth Straight Season on the Olympia Stage
Awoyemi returned to the Europa Pro in September 2025 and placed fifth in a field won by Paul Gustave, keeping himself in the mix of Europe’s deepest division.
Weeks later he stepped on the Mr. Olympia stage in Las Vegas for the third time, wearing competitor number 3 and finishing tied 16th as Ryan Terry defended the title.
Sharing that Olympia stage with athletes like Edvan Palmeira underlined how far the 2022 rookie had come: three Olympia appearances in four years. 🌟

Is Yemi Awoyemi the same person as Yemi Adefioye?
No. They are two different British athletes. Awoyemi competes in Men’s Physique, while Yemi Adefioye competes in Classic Physique. In October 2024 both men won their divisions at the same British Championships, which is why the names are often confused.

Did Yemi Awoyemi compete at the 2024 Mr. Olympia?

What was Yemi Awoyemi’s breakthrough result?
The 2022 Europa Pro Championships in Alicante, Spain, where the rookie defeated Sidy Pouye to win the title and qualify for that year’s Mr. Olympia — the result that launched his pro career.
Is Yemi Awoyemi still competing in 2026?
He has no recorded results in 2026 and did not compete at the 2026 Europa Pro or Mr. Olympia. He has not announced a retirement, so he is best described as inactive in 2026 rather than retired.
