One quick note for fans: Emmanuel Costa is a different athlete from Emerson Costa, the Brazilian Men’s Physique pro he has shared several scorecards with. The two are often mixed up — they are not the same person.
🏆 Turning Pro in 2022
Costa’s breakthrough came at the 2022 Arnold Amateur South America, where he won his class and earned his IFBB Pro card. 💪
His first pro season was busy. In August 2022 he placed second at the Musclecontest Goiania Pro, behind Felipe Franco.
He closed the year with his first professional victory, winning the 2022 Musclecontest Mercosul Pro ahead of Everton Ribeiro and Gil Batista.
🌎 2023: First Pro Wins Abroad and an Olympia Debut
Costa opened 2023 in Santiago, Chile, winning the Sur Pro Cup on May 21. The victory earned him his first Olympia qualification.
Two weeks later he was runner-up at the Musclecontest Bahia Pro, finishing behind Vinicius Mateus Veiro Lima.
In November 2023 he made his Olympia debut in Orlando, finishing tied for 16th in a deep field won by Ryan Terry.
He ended the season back in Brazil, taking third at the December 2023 Musclecontest Mercosul Pro behind Kaique Santos and Diogo Montenegro.
🔥 2024: Arnold Debut and a Third Pro Title
Costa made his Arnold Classic debut in Columbus in March 2024, placing ninth in a lineup won by Diogo Montenegro.
In April he finished second at the Musclecontest Nordeste Pro in Recife, where the title went to Edvan Palmeira.
July brought another runner-up finish, this time at the Musclecontest Brazil Pro — behind Emerson Costa, in one of the shows where the two Brazilians shared a scorecard.
On August 31 he won the Musclecontest Goiania Pro, his third pro title, and with it a qualification for the 2024 Mr. Olympia.
The Olympia chapter of 2024 needs an honest footnote. Costa’s name is on the official qualified list for Las Vegas, but it does not appear on the official final scorecard — so he is not credited with a placing that year.
⭐ 2025: Arnold Top Five and a Second Olympia
The 2025 Arnold Classic brought his best result at a major: fourth place in Columbus, behind champion Ali Bilal.
In April he won the Tri-City Classic Pro in Columbus, Georgia — his fourth pro title — and secured his return to the Olympia.
At the 2025 Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas he finished tied for 16th, matching his debut placing, in the field led by Ryan Terry.
He closed the year with seventh place at the East Coast Pro in Wayne, New Jersey, in November 2025.
