Sotiris Gatsis is a Greek IFBB Pro League athlete in the Men’s Physique division — a two-time pro show winner who has stood on the Mr. Olympia stage. 🇬🇷
Official IFBB and NPC records list him as Sotirios Gkatsis, the Greek spelling of his name. He is one of very few Greek athletes to win professional Men’s Physique titles.
His career is a story of patience. He won his first pro title in 2022, went quiet for two seasons, then returned in 2025 to win again — this time with a perfect score. 🏆

🏆 2022: The Denmark Breakthrough
Gatsis announced himself on November 19, 2022, at the Denmark Pro — one of the last qualifying shows for that year’s Olympia. He won the Men’s Physique title in a nine-man field. 🥇
He beat Mohammad Ali of Egypt in second place and Italy’s Andrea Mosti in third. The win earned him his ticket to the Mr. Olympia just four weeks later.
At the 2022 Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas on December 17, Gatsis — competitor number 20 on the official scorecard — finished tied 16th in a field of more than 60 men. Erin Banks won the title that year.
Sharing that Olympia stage was Ali Bilal, who placed ninth in 2022 and has since become a three-time Olympia silver medallist. For a first Olympia, a top-16 tie in such a deep lineup was a solid debut. 💪
⏳ The Quiet Years: 2023–2024
After his Olympia debut, Gatsis stepped back from the spotlight. He recorded no pro placing during the 2023 season.
His one verified appearance in 2024 came at the Dubai Pro in July, where he finished tied 16th in a huge international field. That show was won by former Olympia champion Erin Banks. 🌍
🔥 2025: The Comeback Win in Vancouver
Gatsis returned to the winner’s circle on July 26, 2025, at the Vancouver Pro in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. He won the Men’s Physique title with a perfect score. 🏆
China’s Duojie Suonan placed second and India’s Bhuwan Chauhan third. It was the second pro victory of Gatsis’s career — almost three years after his first.
Two weeks later he flew to Japan for the Tokyo Pro on August 11, 2025. There he finished tied 16th in a deep lineup won by hometown favourite Junpei Taguchi. 🇯🇵
❓ The 2025 Olympia: Qualified, But Did Not Compete
The Vancouver win qualified Gatsis for the 2025 Mr. Olympia, and his name appeared on the official qualified-athlete lists and in pre-show lineup previews.
However, when the official final scorecard was published, his name was not on it. Gatsis qualified for the 2025 Olympia but did not compete, and no reason for his absence was ever published. 🤔
Ryan Terry won his third straight Men’s Physique Olympia title that weekend. Brazil’s Edvan Palmeira placed fifth — his fifth consecutive Olympia appearance.
