🏆 Who Is Mengyi Liu?
Mengyi Liu represents China in the IFBB Pro League’s Men’s Physique division, a category judged on shape, symmetry, conditioning and stage presentation.
Scorecards list him under China at every major show he has entered, from Seoul and Sanya to Pittsburgh and Las Vegas.
He is one of a growing group of Chinese Men’s Physique pros breaking through internationally, alongside names such as Chao Peng.
🥈 2024: Two Silvers, One Blank Scorecard, Then Gold
Liu’s first full pro season in 2024 was a lesson in persistence. Two silver medals and one blank scorecard in Texas stood between Mengyi Liu and his first professional title.
In May, he finished second at the Kim Jun Ho Classic in Korea, behind winner Jinbo Li.
In July, he was again the runner-up at the Huanji China Pro in Sanya, the first of two editions of that show held in 2024.
His trip to the San Antonio Pro in September went the other way: the official record lists him as entered but not scored, a result recorded as “NS”.
He answered that disappointment the way contenders are supposed to: by winning the next big one outright. 💪
On December 14, 2024, at the second Huanji China Pro of the year in Beijing, Liu won the Men’s Physique title with a perfect score.
Vyacheslav Tarasevich finished second and Farouq Ishimoto third. The victory earned Liu his qualification for the 2025 Mr. Olympia.
🌎 2025: Pittsburgh and an Olympia Debut
Liu opened his 2025 season in the United States at the Pittsburgh Pro, one of the deepest Men’s Physique line-ups of the year.
He placed seventh in a field won by Erin Banks, with Vitor Chaves second and Edvan Palmeira third.
Carlos Asiedu Ocran finished one place ahead of him in sixth, a reminder of how tight the judging was in the middle of that line-up.
In October 2025, Liu stepped on the Mr. Olympia stage in Las Vegas for the first time, wearing competitor number 47.
He was called out in the fifth callout at prejudging and finished tied for 16th in the official results — a debut, honestly recorded, at the highest level of the sport. 🏅
